Project Overview
JourneyPins is an interactive website I developed to help users track their travels by marking countries on a map and adding customized pins for different travel memories, such as landmarks or hiking spots.
Users can customize the map by adding pins with different categories, custom titles and images and adjust the map's appearance. The app is built using React, React Leaflet and SCSS.
I specifically chose this project to practice React and learn how to work with maps using Leaflet, which I had no prior experience with. JourneyPins has allowed me to deepen my knowledge in these areas, and I’m continuing to improve the website with more features. Currently, it is a work in progress, and one of the upcoming features will be data persistence, as currently, all data resets upon refreshing the page.
